How to Play a Lower Level Hunter in Warsong Gulch in WoW

Playing a Hunter in Warsong Gulch is a blast if you know how, even in the lower levels. There are three excellent ways to play your hunter, all of which will confound the enemy and help your team to victory.

Instructions

    • 1

Play defense. You never actually need to leave your flag room. To do this, park your pet at the flag by guiding your pet there and clicking on the Stay command. Then switch your pet’s attack status from defense to aggressive. Once your pet is hidden at the flag, drop a trap. Then go hide in the coat room, on the roof or the back wall opposite your pet. Keep an eye on your pet and on your mini map to see when enemy players are coming. When your pet moves, swivel and shoot whatever the pet is hitting. Use your concussion shot often. This is a great way to protect the flag and to rack up tons of honor building killing blows.

Mark the rogues! Rogues are about the most annoying players on the enemy side. Once they go stealth, you are fairly well hooped until you get your flare ability. Your hunter’s mark, however, can make Warsong Gulch an unpleasant place for enemy rogues. To make their lives hell, hide out near the enemy graveyard and put your hunter's mark on Rogues as they die, before they jump off of the cliff into the battle. If they can’t hide, they can’t win.

Play midfield. Stand back from the action and send your pet into the battle, shooting what your pet attacks. This is a great way to build up damage and lots of killing blows, as well as a large load of honor kills. If you put your pet on aggressive, it will flit from target to target until all are dead. Make sure to mend your pet, as enemies will try to attack the pet to save themselves. To get your pet back if you come under attack, put your pet on passive. When it gets back to you, place it on defensive, and watch Rover save you!

Tips & Warnings

  • Hunters thwart the enemy effort and build up huge honor points quickly! Have fun!
