Remove Shoe Dye From a Leather Sofa
Remove Shoe Dye From a Leather Sofa

Removing any type of ink or dye from leather can be tricky so that you do not cause discoloration of the leather.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lemon Juice
  • Cream of Tartar
  • Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
  • Non-oily Cuticle Remover
  1. Step 1

If your sofa is a light colored leather, you may wish to try a 50/50 mixture of lemon juice and cream of tartar. Allow to sit for an hour or two before wiping off.

  2. Step 2

If that is not a possible solution for you, try applying a non-oily cuticle remover and allow that to sit overnight. Wipe off with a soft cloth.

  3. Step 3

Before either attempt, try gently rubbing the stain off with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do NOT use nail polish remover!! Note, in step two, I instruct using cuticle remover...that is not the same as nail polish remover.
