How to Remove Shoe Dye From a Leather Sofa
Removing any type of ink or dye from leather can be tricky so that you do not cause discoloration of the leather. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Lemon Juice
- Cream of Tartar
- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
- Non-oily Cuticle Remover

If your sofa is a light colored leather, you may wish to try a 50/50 mixture of lemon juice and cream of tartar. Allow to sit for an hour or two before wiping off.

If that is not a possible solution for you, try applying a non-oily cuticle remover and allow that to sit overnight. Wipe off with a soft cloth.

Before either attempt, try gently rubbing the stain off with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Tips & Warnings
Do NOT use nail polish remover!! Note, in step two, I instruct using cuticle remover...that is not the same as nail polish remover.

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers should not be used to clean leather furniture as they will remove the top finish on the leather. We have repaired many a problem caused by this. -

That cream of tarter is truly a wonder, it's an amazing CONDIMENT LOL, you live by that magic eraser, huh? Your tips are winners.
