Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1TBS vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups sliced toasted almonds, coarsley chopped

Step 1
Grease a 10 x 15 inch baking sheet and set aside.
Combine the butter, sugar, and water into a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir occasionally to prevent burning. -
Step 2
Using a candy thermometer cook until the mixture reaches soft-crack stage, 285 degrees farenheit. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour the hot mixture into the greased baking sheet.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips onto the hot toffee. Let the toffee sit for 5 minutes. Spread the chocolate evenly over the toffee with a spatula. Sprinkle the nuts over the chocolate.

Cool completely and break the toffee into pieces. Store into an air tight container.
