How to Redecorate an Old Camper

Things You'll Need
- Camper
- Paint
- Painting supplies.
- Old English scratch remover
- Curtains
- Throw rugs
- Cleaning agents
- New upholstery (optional)

Remove all unnecessary items from the camper. Clean the inside thoroughly, including the floors.

Prepare for painting. Tape the corners of the walls and lay down a drop cloth.

Open all windows and the door for ventilation, then paint over the wood paneling. (Or, you can apply Old English scratch remover to renew the look of the old wood.) Allow the paint to dry completely.

Re-upholster the sitting area in the trailer.

Remove any old curtains from the camper, and hang new curtains.

Place new bedspreads on the beds. Add throw pillows to beds and couches.

Add throw rugs to create a sense of updated style and coziness.

Before you paint the interior of you vintage trailer, i strongly suggest researching your trailer or similar trailers online. Generally, the last thing that you ever want to do to a vintage camper is paint the interior, especially if it is birch. Painting the interior of a vintage trailer drops the value significantly. A good rule of thumb with vintage trailers is if the interior is original birch, NEVER PAINT IT! Even if you do not plan on selling it, you will sell it someday. Usually a person looking to buy a vintage trailer knows a thing or two about them. To them, a fresh coat of paint is saying that there is some water damage and a potential nightmare.
