Skydiving is a fantastic experience. However, it is also an activity where you have to dress a certain way in order to make sure that you have the best time possible and help to ensure that everything is going to go smoothly. If you are planning on going skydiving, here is some advice on how you should dress.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If you have anything longer then short hair, make sure that it is up tightly. For safety reasons, the instructor that you will be jumping with needs to be able to see what is going on and where you are in order to make the landing properly. Your hair could interfere with his vision if it gets into his face. Using a simple hair band will work well.

  2. Step 2

Wear sneakers that are tied tightly. If you wear shoes such as ballet flats, open-toed shoes, flip flops, or even sneakers that are not tied the proper way, they could fall off your feet and injure someone below or you could hurt yourself when you are landing. Make sure that before you step onto the plane, you tie your sneakers securely.

  3. Step 3

You can wear either a t-shirt or a sweatshirt, depending on the temperature outside, that has no collar or hood on it. The collar will whip your neck as you are falling and it will get quite uncomfortable. The hood on the sweatshirt could create a view obstruction of the instructor. A simple t-shirt or a sweatshirt that fits you well would work fine.

  4. Step 4

Regular shorts or pants are fine to wear, however wearing jeans may not be comfortable. You are already strapped in extremely tight for your jump, jeans may feel very uncomfortable especially on the landing. Make sure that when choosing a pair of shorts to wear that you choose ones that are relatively long. You can get quite a mark on the back of your legs if are wearing relatively short shorts, slip during the landing and skid a bit.

  5. Step 5

It is okay to wear your glasses or contacts during the jump considering that you will be issued you a pair of goggles to wear during your jump.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to double check with the place you will be skydiving with for any additional information on what they require you to wear and what they would like you to not wear.
  • Don’t wear any jewelry during your jump that you care about losing. Should your jewelry fall off during your jump, chances are you’re not going to be able to find it. It is better that you avoid wearing jewelry all together.
