Incense has been used by civilizations all across the world for relaxation, meditation and other religious purposes. However, if you simply enjoy the calming effect that incense brings, then you will need an incense burner. Making your own incense burner is a fun project, and it will allow you to personalize this common product.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Glass bottle
  • Small bit drill
  • Water
  • Towel
  • Gloves
  • Beads and other decorations
  1. Step 1

Gather your tools and go outside to actually create the incense bottle. Place the towel on the ground and plug in your drill with the small bit.

  2. Step 2

Use the drill to create a small hole, large enough to fit your incense, at an angle on the side of the bottle. You will want to also pour water onto the drill as you are creating the hole to keep it from becoming too hot.

  3. Step 3

Clean off the hole and the drill after you are done. Make sure that there are no loose pieces of glass, as this can be a safety hazard. Always use gloves when performing this task.

  4. Step 4

Dry off the bottle and then apply any type of external decorations that you desire. Make sure that you do not use any decorations that are highly flammable as a safety precaution.

  5. Step 5

Insert your incense stick with the lit part inside of the bottle through the small hole. The actual incense smoke will be released through the top opening of the bottle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Cleaning out the incense bottle is a breeze. Simply remove any incense sticks and then rinse out the interior of the bottle with water and allow it to dry.
  • Cutting glass can be extremely dangerous if you are not careful. Always wear gloves and take your time when creating the side hole.
