Things You'll Need:
- Body Lift kit
- Tools
- A couple of jacks
- Jack stands
- Oil and Brake Oil
- Rag to clean
- Gloves
-
Step 1
Park your vehicle in a cool place with no sun, preferably a garage. What you have to see is that you have plenty of room around the vehicle. Then using the jacks, try to open the bolts holding the body to the frame. These may be rusted so you might have to use some oil on it.
-
Step 2
Remove the bolts and then gently lift the back of the body up and place jack stands to hold it in place. Clean the whole area underneath the vehicle and pay attention to other parts that might need changing.
-
Step 3
Install of 2 to 3 inches of nylon blocks between the body and frame. Take the screws out of the blocks and attach directly to the body, then you will attach the body to the nylon blocks. Nylon is a very strong yet not rigid material which has a little give. It is a perfect material for any difficult situation.
-
Step 4
Apply brake oil to your new body lift; the brake oil will not harm plastic, nylon or rubber. The new body mounts come with new screws as it will now need a much larger size. Install the new body spacers one at a time and tighten as you go. Once all of them are done then the back of your Ford Bronco is ready to drive.
-
Step 5
Go through the whole procedure with the front that you did with the back. Install all spacers correctly and make sure that your Ford Bronco looks straight from all angles. Then you can begin to tighten the screws. The nuts and bolts that come with the kits are much stronger than the old ones. They will keep everything together.
-
Step 6
Tighten all bolts throughout the Ford Bronco. You do not want to be on the freeway and have a problem. Once everything is done then drive the vehicle to feel the difference. It should be tremendous. Your new lift kit has beefed up your old Ford Bronco and it is a pleasure to drive a vehicle that has so much more of a view.
