How to Find Warps in Super Mario Brothers 2
Finding warps in Super Mario Brothers 2 can sometimes turn into a guessing game. The only way you can warp is by throwing a potion plant near a particular vase. With only two to three potion plants per level and with nearly 15 to 20 vases in each, a player will have some work to do in order to find every warp in the game. Go to Level 1-3. Grab the potion that is in the area before the large brick wall. This area will be between two water pits, and will have a horizontal log held up by two shorter vertical logs. With the potion in hand, run to the end of the level, past the exit door, until you find a vase. Throw the potion near the vase and enter the door that appears. Jump on top of the vase and press down to warp to Level 4.

Go to Level 3-1. Enter the first door and fall down the ladder. Enter the next door, which will be on a platform. When you exit the door, find the nearby potion plant and throw it by the first vase you see. Go through the door that appears, then press down over the vase. You will warp to Level 5.

Go to Level 5-3. Climb to the top of the first ladder and grab the first plant; it will be a potion plant. Throw it immediately and enter the door that appears. Jump on top of the nearby vase and press down. You will warp to Level 7.

Go to Level 4-2. Find a potion plant in this level and run to the end of the level without using the potion. At the end of the level, you will find a vase on a small "island" all by itself. Jump on this island and throw the potion. Enter the door and jump on top of the vase. Press down on the vase and you will warp to World 6.

Tips & Warnings
When you have little room to maneuver, it may be wise to throw the potion by just pressing the "B" button. If you do this, your character will simply throw the potion down. If you press "B" and "forward" or "back," you will throw the potion. This could mean that you accidentally throw the potion over a ledge or past the vase.
Be quick when you enter the door that appears when you throw a potion. You are only in this alternate world for a short amount of time. Once you leave this alternate world, it may be difficult or impossible to find another potion and use the warp you are looking for.
This article does not guarantee that you will be able to warp to another world successfully. Each player will have to practice her maneuvering and timing in order to avoid enemies and be quick enough to utilize the warps.
