1. Place the fedora on your head with the turned up side facing the back.

2. Play with the placement of the brim to decided which looks best. You can turn the brim up slightly for a more casual, around-the-town kind of look. Or you can pull it down, so it hits just above your eyes, to block the sun or give off an air of mystery.

3. Let the fedora be your standout piece by pairing it with an understated outfit. For a daytime look, opt for a lighter colored fedora and pair it with a simple summer dress and cute flats. For a night time look, choose a dark, patterned or plain fedora. Wear it with jeans, a plain black tank and some fun heels.

4. Keep other menswear pieces to a minimum. You don’t want the outfit to be overly masculine by pairing the fedora with pinstripe pants, a vest and a tie.

5. Be confident. Rock the fedora by assuming the effortless coolness of the 1940s zoot-suit style, except without the zoot suit.
