      Create the desired text. To create text, you will need to have an image file open. Then click on the “A” button, found in the middle of the toolbar palette; a font-properties box will open.

      Choose the font type and size. Inside of the font properties box, you can type in the desired text as you wish it to appear. You can change the font by accessing the “Font” drop menu on the command bar. You can change the font size by entering the desired font size under the “Font Size” drop menu on the command bar.

      To align the text you just created, use the “Alignment” box on the command bar. You can choose left, right or center by clicking on the corresponding font-alignment icon on the command bar.

      Arrange the text where you want it on the image. To determine where the text sits on the image, simply left-click on the text to activate it and drag it where desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play around with different font types and colors to get the best appearance and formatting of fonts on the image.

  • Make sure to save the image file in the Paint Shop Pro Photo XI (PSP) format until you have finished working on it. Otherwise, the text layers will be converted to part of one image, and you will not be able to make further changes to the text.
