Parents who are blessed with triplet boys are also blessed with an ever-evolving life that is never the same from one day to the next. Even though triplets are born at the same time, they may differ greatly in their mannerisms as well as their likes and dislikes. Raising triplet boys takes strength, patience and a really good sense of humor.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Lower your expectations. This doesn't mean that you should allow your home to turn into a chaotic circus, but you can't expect to have everything run like a well-oiled machine at all times. There will be some times when you feel like absolutely nothing is under control, and there will indeed be times when things are actually quite chaotic. If you try a little less to make everything perfect and instead try to have realistic expectations of how things will run then you will have a much more positive experience.

  2. Step 2

Get help. Don't try to do everything on your own. Even parents of one baby should seek out help when they need it, so a parent of triplet boys should certainly get help when necessary. Take people up on their offers to babysit. You should pay people to do some things that will free up a little of your time. Consider bringing in a housecleaning service or other assistance if you can afford it.

  3. Step 3

Make a schedule. This doesn't mean that you have to have a stringent daily schedule that dictates the exact time that everything happens, but instead you should present a predictable order of events to your boys. For example, brushing teeth is always followed by a bath which is always followed by bedtime, or something similar. This will make things run more smoothly and will allow your boys to enjoy some predictability to their days.

  4. Step 4

No matter how overwhelmed you get, remember that it is your responsibility to discipline your triplet boys. You can't just throw your arms up in the air and give up on discipline because you feel outnumbered by the kids. Your discipline should be firm yet loving so that your boys know that if they do something wrong there will be consequences.

  5. Step 5

Make some social connections with parents of other multiples. You will certainly benefit from socializing with other parents in similar situations. Your kids will enjoy spending time with other kids close to their age.
