Beaded Necklace
Beaded Necklace

Here is a fun and fashionable Necklace idea you can make and wear. It's a noose type of necklace. It does not use a clasp. It wraps around your neck and has beads that dangle through a hoop type of pendant to hold it onto your neck. I actually make these in my spare time in a variety of beads and colors sometimes with matching earrings to give as gifts and sometimes I sell. Have fun!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 16" +/- of silver or gold jewelry chain.
  • A hoop type of pendant, either round, diamond shaped, square etc. It has to be large enough for your choice of beads to easily fit through.
  • Jump rings to secure pendant to one end of the chain and one to attach beads at the other end.
  • Beads
  • Findings to string the beads onto.
  • Jewely Tool for bending metal findings.
  1. Step 1

Wrap some jewelry chain around your neck and pinch in the front to check the length. Leaving enough chain to attach your beads to one end so that they dangle through your pendant. Also remember you will be attaching your pendant to the other end and that will add to the length of your necklace. You don't want it to long or too short. You can judge by pulling around your neck, looking in the mirror. pinch with your fingers to hold the perfect location and cut with your jewelry tool.

  2. Step 2

attach your desired pendant to one end of the necklace chain with a jump ring. A jump ring is a small circle that is easy to pull apart. Put the ring through one of the chain and the pendant. Close the jump ring to hold both. So that your pendant is dangling from one end of your chain.

  3. Step 3
Metal findings to string small beads on.

You can put a long metal finding through a large bead or multiples of small beads and attach to the other end of your chain. These are what will slide through your pendant and dangle from around your neck

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your beads slip in and out of the pendant easily before you connect all of the parts.

  • All of these parts are small so keep away from children and animals.
