Don't let the candle go to waste!

Many people love candles, but the expense of buying beautiful candles and then just burning them down can seem wasteful. Nice candles look best in the home, but it is also a shame to destroy them, and that's why there are many candles that have never been lit. Enjoy the warm glow of your candles and keep them looking beautiful with these handy tips.

From Quick Guide: Candle Accents
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Candle
  • Knife
  • Tea candles
  1. Step 1

Light your candle and let it burn for a while. You are waiting for a hole to open up that is about 1 inch across and about a half-inch deep.

  2. Step 2

Blow the candle out when the hole looks about as big as a tea candle.

  3. Step 3

Press a tea candle into the hole in the top of the candle.

  4. Step 4

Check to make sure that the tea candle is not visible from the side. If it is, you may need to carve the hole out with the knife.

  5. Step 5

Light the tea candle instead of the candle and enjoy the warm glow without melting your beautiful candle.

Tips & Warnings
  • Replace the tea candles as often as necessary-no need to relight the main candle, ever.
