How to Make a Music MySpace Page
MySpace is a very popular website and a several artists have been discovered thru this social networking portal. With a music page on MySpace, you can add your band’s songs, and gain a fan base. A music profile is quick to set up, and free. It offers many of the same features when it comes to HTML and style sheets, customization of your profile as a personal account, and is a powerful tool in getting your band’s name out to the public.

Go to http://www.myspace.com/ in your internet browser.

Click Sign Up. Look in the upper right corner for a box that says, "Band/Musician". Click Sign up Here. If you miss this step you will have a regular profile, and you will have to start over again with another email address. You will not have the option to change your profile later on!

Fill in the required information. Make sure to enter the correct email address or your account will never be confirmed, and you cannot sign in.

Check your email to confirm the sign up. Click the link in the email you received in order to confirm your account. Without this step, you will not be able to add friends and leave comments on other people's profiles. This step is essential to making your music profile work.

Log in to the MySpace website and begin customizing your profile. Follow the instructions on the screen to fill in information. Then you will be able to add your band's songs to your profile via the profile editor. Go to the Manage Songs tab. Select your preferred options for your song playback, and then click "Add a Song to Your Profile" that you should see at the top of the right hand side of the screen. Do not upload the song more than once, because it will show up more than once, and it may take more than 24 hours for it to propagate through the MySpace system.

To find people to add as friends, go to the Friends tab, and look for the option that says "Find Friends". Enter the desired search criteria, look through your results. When you find a profile you would like to look at it, double click it. Then, if you decide you would like to add this person as a friend, click "Add to Friends" on their profile. Enter a caption or other information if the person requires, and click submit.

Do not try to add more than 500 friends each day to your account.
