Things You'll Need:
- Pens
- Quality Greeting Cards
- Envelopes
- Ruler
-
Step 1
Use only good quality cards. If these greeting cards are for business or clients, this is essential. Mass-produced cards look cheap and will make the recipient feel undervalued. Good quality cards do not have to cost a fortune. They can be bought in bulk at most stationery shops.
-
Step 2
Personally sign your cards. Sometimes your cards will have pre-printed information on them which is fine. If this is the case, sign your name with a short message. This adds a more personal touch.
-
Step 3
Write the address by hand. Computer-generated labels look terrible, and chances are your card will end up in the trash can. Take your time and practice. Use a ruler to make sure the writing is straight. If your handwriting is really bad, ask a friend to do it. It is important that the address looks nice; this is the first thing most people will see.
-
Step 4
Make sure you use the appropriate titles for people. Even if you are on a first-name basis with these people, putting Mr. John Smith instead of John Smith makes the card look slightly more dignified. Make sure you know the marital status of your recipients as well. Leaving the spouse off the card, even by accident, is considered very rude.
