Swim or surf at Santa Barbara's beautiful beaches. Two favorite swimming spots are El Capitan (a little north of town) and Carpinteria (a little south). El Capitan is also popular for surfing; Rincon to the south is also a smash hit for surfers. You can rent surfboards in town and/or take surfing lessons.

Do some wine tasting at the gorgeous vineyards. Most of the wine tasting services are complimentary, and you may just find that you find some of the best wine in the country in Santa Barbara.

Go for a hike in the mountains. Bring along all of your travel companions, and explore the rugged areas of Santa Barbara. It is still full of unspoiled nature, and you will find a great peace of mind on your hike as cares can disappear as you soak in the magnitude and scope of nature.
