How to Dress for a Modeling Interview

You think you have what it takes to be a model and you're on your way to an interview. Don't blow the job by not wearing the right clothes. While different agencies might have varying standards, it's better to err on the side of caution. You want to come across as competent and professional.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a fairly conservative outfit. This means that your clothes should be appropriate for an interview.

    • 2

Select a dress or dressy slacks and matching top. Since you're interviewing to be a model, a mini-dress would be suitable if you want to show off your long, lean legs.

    • 3

Make sure your outfit fits you perfectly. Interviewers want to see what your proportions and measurements are. They will be better able to do that if you wear clothes that aren't too roomy.

    • 4

Choose garments that are form-fitting, but not tight.

    • 5

Make sure your clothes are clean and ironed before you get dressed.

    • 6

Choose appropriate shoes. High heels are better and more flattering at showcasing long legs.

Tips & Warnings

  • Although you're interviewing in a creative field, you should still dress appropriately. While you have more leeway than if you interviewed for a bank job, you should still leave holey and dirty clothing at home. If you succeed in your interview and go on to model, you'll have plenty of opportunities to wear outrageous fashions.
