How to Become a Human Resource Manager
Work in human resources could be the career you have been seeking. As a human resource manager you would be responsible for the personnel department of the company you work for. You will need to be well organized and able to manage a large amount of people, depending on the size of the company. You would post advertisements in the appropriate places for new employees, read possible employee resumes, set up interviews, possibly interview prospective employees, and manage the hiring process for your company. You would also oversee the employees, train employees, help employees when needed, and even fire employees when it is necessary. Here is an example of the responsibilities of a human resource manager: recruiting, hiring, training, organization, communication, performance management, salary and benefits, team building and employee relations. If this sounds like something you would enjoy and do well you could succeed with a career as a human resource manager.

To become a human resource manager you must earn a degree in human resources or business. In your education for human resources you will take classes in business, organizational development, communication, public administration, human services, instructional design, education and more.

Intern as a human resource manager's assistant or apprentice. With this you will learn all about being a human resource manager hands-on. You will be able to help with tasks that you will be expected to perform when you become a human resource manager.

Once you have completed your education and training you are ready to become a human resource manager. You will need to seek out available positions as a human resource manager in your area, unless you are willing to relocate. You'll need to prepare a winning resume and go to interviews to the companies with which you want to work.
