Los Angeles is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States (as well as the world), so it's no wonder that there is a great selection of international cuisines and restaurants. Chinese food is no exception. Here are a few great ways to find the tastiest Chinese restaurants in all of Los Angeles.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stop by Yang Chow on North Broadway!. This centrally located Los Angeles Chinese restaurant specializing in Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine is routinely named as one of the best the city has to offer. Serving customers in the heart of L.A.'s Chinatown since 1977, Yang Chow has loyal diners coming back for more and more. The entire menu is fantastic, but be sure to try the menu's trademark specialty, "Slippery Shrimp."

  2. Step 2

Dine at Empress Pavilion Restaurant on North Hill Street! Empress Pavilion is another well-known Chinatown gem, often referred to as the "grand dame" of the area. With a warm, amiable staff and ambiance, great dim sum selections, and a diverse menu, it offers a plenitude of choices. Be sure to try the deep fried crispy chicken, one of the popular items on the menu.

  3. Step 3

Eat at Yujean Kang's on North Raymond Avenue in Pasadena. Yujean Kang's is nestled cozily in picturesque Old Town Pasadena, and dining here is a perfect way to cap off a breezy day in the area. Critically acclaimed by many newspapers and magazines, this Chinese restaurant does not disappoint. The authentically Chinese menu is sensational, with dishes ranging from veal and matchstick yams to Chinese risotto.

  4. Step 4

Visit Xi'an Restaurant on North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. This elegant Chinese restaurant is located amidst all the glamor and style of Beverly Hills. The service and atmosphere are both fantastic, and the food is on the healthy side (less grease than some other Chinese restaurants). All of those factors keep loyal customers coming back repeatedly. Be sure to try the black bean or peppered chicken dishes.

  5. Step 5

Try the Din Tai Fung Dumpling House on South Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia. With locations all around the world, this dumpling-oriented restaurant is critically acclaimed and has an excellent reputation. Specializing in steamed dumplings, you will find no better place to dine on genuine Chinese dumplings. Be sure to try the steamed mashed red bean buns or sesame buns for a taste experience like no other. Also, there is a great noodle selection on the menu.

Tips & Warnings
  • Walk around Los Angeles' Chinatown section. There are countless Chinese restaurants and markets in the area, so finding excellet Chinese cuisine shouldn't be a difficult task.
