Step 1
Locate the "clip" on the base of the wiper blade. It is hooked on a curve in the arm of the wiper.
-
Step 2
Push down on the clip as you slide and maneuver the blade off of the wiper arm. It can be hard to push down, so give it some pressure. You will hear a click once it releases itself.
-
Step 3
Fold the arm of the wiper back so that the metal will not scratch your windshield when you remove the plastic wiper blade. They are designed to bend and will stay in place so long as you do not bump them.
-
Step 4
Remove both wiper blades before you put the new blade on. This just makes for a quicker application.
-
Step 5
Wipe down the new blade with clean towel or rag. You will want to do this to avoid getting any sand or debris in between the blade and the windshield. If you don't it can and will scratch your windshield. Once you do this, maneuver the new blade around the hook part of the wiper arm. Once this in back in place it will make the same clicking sound. Make sure it is firmly in place and give it a wiggle to make sure that it is connected firmly.
