How to Make Glitter Gel
Glitter gel is adored by tween girls, teenagers and even young women looking to sparkle for a night out on the town. You can make body glitter gel at home for great Christmas stocking stuffers, party favors for a birthday, or just to use when you feel like shining. A bonus: this body glitter also smells wonderful, and you can personalize it with your favorite scent. Read on to learn how to make glitter gel.
Things You'll Need
- 1/2 cup aloe vera gel
- 2 tsp. glycerin
- 1/2 tsp. glitter
- Fragrance or essential oil
- Food coloring
- Two small bowls
- Spoon
- Small lidded containers

Measure a quarter cup of aloe vera gel into each of the small mixing bowls. Pour 1 tsp. of glycerin into each of the bowls as well.

Stir the gel and glycerin in the first bowl until it is thoroughly combined. Repeat with the second bowl.

Measure a 1/4 tsp. of glitter into each bowl. Use the finest glitter you can find, as it will adhere to your skin more easily. Check craft stores for fine glitter. You may also want to use a different color of glitter for each bowl. After adding the glitter, mix well.

Add four drops of essential or fragrance oil to the first bowl and stir well. If you prefer more fragrance, add more oil one drop at a time, stirring between each drop. Pour in a drop of food coloring in the color you desire. Stir well. Repeat with the second bowl of gel.

Spoon gel into small containers, such as empty lip balm jars, makeup containers, baby food jobs, or old film containers. Apply to skin with fingers.
