Make an Origami Macaw

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Origami gives both children and adults a glimpse into Japanese culture while learning to make something fascinating with a simple piece of paper. With only a few folds, you can transform a square sheet of paper into a macaw. A macaw is a large, colorful parrot. These birds are native to Mexico, Central America, South America, and formerly the Caribbean. The majority of macaws are now endangered in the wild. Therefore, this might be an interesting school project to call attention to the plight of macaws.
