How to Make a King Arthur's Crown

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Origami gives both children and adults a glimpse into Japanese culture while learning to make something fascinating with a simple piece of paper. With only a few folds, you can transform a square sheet of paper into King Arthur's crown. The square of paper can be as small or as large as you'd like it to be. You might even want to make several of these crowns for a child's party.

• One square sheet of paper

Instructions

1. 

   Fold the paper in half.

2. 

   Fold it in half the opposite way.

3. 

   Unfold the paper and then fold all four points to the center.

4. 

   Turn the paper over.

5. 

   Fold the top and bottom to the middle line.

6. 

   Fold the bottom triangle over the top triangle.

7. 

   Fold the bottom corners up.

8. 

   Fold both triangles down.

9. 

   Fold the top corners down.

10. 

    Fold top triangle back up.

11. 

    Pull the triangles outward.
