How to Practice Tantra Kundalini Yoga

Tantra kundalini yoga awakens your sensual energy. This type of yoga does not suppress energy but raises vibrations and allows you to find a higher awareness and consciousness of both yourself and your sensuality. Tantra practices have been associated with unlocking sensual energy within your body, mind and spirit. The term "tantra" was derived from two words: "tanoti" (which means expansion) and "trayati" (which means liberation). Tantra kundalini yoga is one of the most intimate forms of yoga to practice and is a non-stressful, relaxing style that will leave you with a deeper awareness of your sensual consciousness.

Keep your arms close to the sides of your head. Clasp your hands together and interlace your fingers. Press index fingers together so they are pointing toward the sky.

Chant the words "SAT NAM" (SAHT NAHM). Bring your navel in as you chant the word "SAT" out loud. Relax your stomach as you chant the word "Nam" out loud. Chant the word "SAT" powerfully and loudly . Chant the word "NAM" softly and gently (almost like a whispered breath). Repeat this chant 8 times for maximum benefit.

Release your arms from over your head. End your tantra kundalini yoga practice with root look and neck lock. As you inhale your breath through your nose, move your neck backwards slightly and tuck your chin to your chest. Contract your pelvic, groin, and lower abdomen muscles. Imagine a warm, bright light traveling up your spine (the kundalini). Imagine this warm kundalini traveling and spreading to each part of your body. Concentrate this energy in your pelvic region.

Release the breath slowly through your nostrils. Close your eyes and take a few moments to feel the warm energy (kundalini) flowing through your body, especially in your pelvic region.
