How to Become a Dancer in Final Fantasy Tactics
The Final Fantasy Tactics dancer utilizes several different dances in battle to inflict damage upon enemy monsters and status ailments. Dancers also have the added advantage of being able to do this with unlimited range. This means that they can hit all of the enemy units in a given stage at one time. They also have the added bonus of using the cloth weapons, which have a range of two panels, and a very large weapon gaurd percentage. If a dancer is something that you would like to have, but you have no idea how to obtain one, this article will explain how.

1
Hire a female soldier. Females are the only units that can be made into dancers. If you do not have any female generic units, head to a town and visit the recruitment office to hire one.
-
2
Learn the “accumulate” skill. This skill is learned from the squire job, and it will allow you to sit your soldier in a corner and use accumulate on every one of it’s turns to gather JP. Your other units on the battlefield can be placed around your female unit to protect it while it garners JP.

Get job levels. Move a few jobs up to a level that will enable you to unlock the dancer. Start by changing your unit into a knight and leveling knight to level two. This will unlock monk. You will also need to change into a monk and get it to level three. This will unlock geomancer, which is one of the two required jobs that you need to unlock dancer. The other job that you need to level is lancer. In order to unlock lancer, you will need to change your units unto an archer, level it up to level two. This will unlock thief. You will need thief to level to three to unlock lancer. Once you have lancer and geomancer, get both of their job levels up to four. This will unlock the dancer job.

Tips & Warnings
A generic female unit makes it easier to get the dancer job. Generics are the only units that can learn the “accumulate” ability. Accumulate makes getting job levels a lot easier.
Putting the squire support ability “gained JP up” on your female unit will help you increase levels much faster. This skill significantly increases the amount of JP that you will get from each action.
You can use this guide for either the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics, or the PSone version. The PSP version may require you to get more JP per job level, but other than that they will work identically.
