Things You'll Need:

  • Website
  • Business cards

  • Social site memberships
  1. Step 1

Get good business cards that have a piece of your art on them. Give them out whenever possible.

  2. Step 2

Build a website that features your artwork. Make sure to include an "About Me" page that gives visitors a personal look at your methods and inspiration. You may want to add art that can be purchased on the site with a cart feature.

  3. Step 3

Join networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and LinkedIn to grow your list of potential clients (buyers) and to spread the word about your art.

  4. Step 4

Put small images of your art in your email and forum signature lines with a link to your website.

  5. Step 5

Enter as many local art shows as possible. Nothing boosts sells like blue ribbons and awards.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always mention to people that you meet that you are an artist. You never know when you may come across a collector or art enthusiast.
  • Never display unfinished or poorly done artwork. Remember your reputation.
