Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Study martial arts. You should not attempt to punch through bricks until you have received extensive martial arts training. Once you are qualified and trained, you can do it safely.

  2. Step 2

Start with one brick placed across two stacks of bricks about knee-high. There should be a space beneath the brick that extends all the way to the ground.

  3. Step 3

Focus your energy straight down through the center of the brick. Practice the motion of your fist coming straight down. There must be a straight line from your knuckles through your wrist, arm and shoulder. If you bend anywhere along that line, you may break a bone. Wind your body up as you draw back your fist. Unleash all your energy with your momentum, body twist, gravity and weight.

  4. Step 4

Exhale forcefully and let out a gut-tightening yell as you punch through the brick. You must impact the brick in the middle with the first two knuckles of your tightly clenched fist flat against the brick. Punch through the brick. Do not attempt to stop at the brick. If you do, you will slow down and probably hurt yourself.

  5. Step 5

Punch through multiple bricks as you gain confidence and experience. Punching through lots of bricks is the same as breaking one. The force of impact on the first brick continues through all the bricks. You can also move on to other breaking positions. Have a partner hold a brick as you punch through it. Advanced breakers punch through bricks as they hold it in the other hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember that you are punching through bricks. You are not pushing the bricks. The impact must be sharp and sudden. Speed and technique are far more important than strength.
  • If you punch bricks wrong, you will hurt yourself. Do not attempt to punch through bricks unless you are trained and supervised by a qualified martial arts instructor.
