To get started on a limited budget, look at items you currently have that can be used, such as weed-eaters, mowers and other light-duty tools. Items that you may not currently have can be purchased in good used condition by searching through your local newspaper and visiting local yard sales.

Once you have the basic equipment, start by hanging simple flyers in your local stores and gas stations. Then as you get jobs, look around the neighborhood and see if there are others in obvious need of your services. Knock on the door and offer to provide services at a discount (since already in the area) or leave a flyer or business card on the door. This is a great way to get a lot of extra work.
