Even though they say the average price of a home is going down the average american doesn't make enough money to pay off the mortgage bill, gas bill, car note, cell bill, babysitters bill, doctors bill and all the other seeminly thousands of bills while at the same time taking a much needed vacation at least one a year. What's the solution...anybody? Well I have a suggestion; try a roommate. Nobody wants to live with just anybody so you'll need a good screening process before going from myspace to to half myspace...depending on the number of roommates you want.

  2. Step 2
Can't believe everything they tell you

Verify. Verify. Verify. By this I mean ask a ton of questions and every statement a potential roommate makes check on it, don't let anything slide. Ask for recent pay stubs, refrences and identification. You'd be surprised how many people aren't who or what they say they are.

  3. Step 3
    Guess whos having second thoughts

After you narrow your search down to a single prospect invite them over for a night amongst close friends and or family. You should even ask potential roomate to bring at least one of their close friends over. Doing this allows you to observe their behaviors and get opinions from those close to you. Their friends allow them to act a bit more naturally while showing you what kind of people might be coming to your house.

  4. Step 4
Its hard finding a good roommate

After you've found that perfect roomate before they move in make sure they have a complete understanding of all the things that irritate you, all the little things you don't like so that when you kick them out you don't have to feel bad and they wont lose their head trying to figure out what went wrong.
