redecorate your bedroom on a budget

There are plenty of ways to change the look of a room with out paying big bucks. In this article I will give you the ideas I used in my bedroom and kept it under $120.

Things You'll Need:

  • A creative mind
  1. Step 1

To change the look of your bed set is pretty simple if you do not want to go out and buy a new comforter and throw pillows. You can always go pick out a fabric and recover your throw pillows with it, which if you sew the covers put a zipper on one side or sew some buttons you can always take the covers off and change them or if you want to go back to the old look. Get enough fabric to cover your comforter and do the same as described about the throw pillows, plus it makes it easier to wash the blanket with out ruining your slip cover. While you are picking out new colors for your bed you might as well pick out fabric for your curtains, or buy some inexpensive curtains at a Target or Lowes. You can pick out new fabrics to recover your chairs, or get slip covers also.

  2. Step 2

You can go and get new paint at the nearest hardware store. When you do that check out the different kits that can either make your walls look antiqued, or designed. They also have this stuff you can put in your paint to make your wall look textured. Another idea is pick a main color to paint most of your walls with and then pick a bold color to paint one wall in, and paint inspirational sayings, or lyrics to a song etc. it definitely gives your room a personalized touch. Don't forget to get paint for your furniture also, such as your headboard and dressers, but don't use the same colors you used to paint your walls with. Don't forget to pick up new knobs for the dresser and night stands.

  3. Step 3

Decoration ideas are pretty simple, for example, you can go pick up candle making kits(you can pick them up at a craft store) and you can add your own decorative things to your candles like pebbles, shells, glitter, etc. Go out and take pictures of things that will match your room, such as flowers, the ocean, a lake, trees... well you get the picture. After you have decided on your pictures get some inexpensive frames and paint or decorate them to you liking. To add that sexy or fairy tale look, how ever you see it lol you can get those kits that you hang on the ceiling that allows you to drape sheer fabric over your bed. The best place to find great finds are thrift stores, or yard sells. Those places are the best to find great deals. Have fun! Don't be afraid to try something new.
