This is a very simple way to make flour out of rolled oats. This flour can be used in place of all purpose flour in many recipes. Enjoy experimenting with it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rolled oats
  • Small blender or food processor
  1. Step 1

Set up blender or food processor on a steady surface.

  2. Step 2

Pour in rolled oats. You can make as little or as much as you want. You can experiment with amounts to see how much you will need for your recipe.

  3. Step 3

Turn on the blender and blend until the oats have become the consistency of flour.

  4. Step 4

Use the flour in your recipe. I have used this flour to make fried chicken, biscuits, and even in homemade bread.

Tips & Warnings
  • Oat flour has a nuttier flavor than wheat flour. Keep this in mind as it might change the flavor of your food. (I find most things better with the richer flavor)
  • Oat flour has little (if any) gluten so it does not have as much elasticity as wheat flour. It is best to use only about 1 cup of oat flour to 3 cups wheat flour if making bread.
