Millions of people suffer from sleep issues. This problem is not only limited to adults but children are being impacted as well. Here are some simple steps that can promote good sleep preparation and a restful night of rest.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soft Music
  • Bedtime story books
  • Lavender Bath Wash
  • Lamps or dimming lights
  1. Step 1

Develop a sleep routine: It takes some children longer to fall a sleep, so begin preparing for bed earlier in the evening. Set a specific time that can consistently be implemented without varying more then 30 minutes

  2. Step 2

Limit television and computer activities at least an hour prior to bed time. Even after the television and computer are turned off, they continue to emit electromagnetic energy which inhabits the body’s ability to rest. So limit play, excitement, and stress an hour before bedtime.

  3. Step 3

Prepare a warm bath with lavender to promote calm and rest.

  4. Step 4

Dim overhead lights or using lamps to lower the mood.

  5. Step 5

Play soft music or read a bed time story.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your child initiates a nap, notice how and where he/she choose to sleep. Adjust the night time routine similarly if the previous steps have been unsuccessful.
  • Stop foods and beverages 2 hours prior to bedtime.
