This is an article for those who have Internet Explorer and would like to organize the favorites menu. Perfect for the beginning learner!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer with IE
  • a list of sites under favorites to organize
  1. Step 1

Left click once with the mouse on the "Favorites" option on the top of the browser to open a drop down menu. Left click once now on "organize favorites" at the top of the menu to open up a small box in on the screen that will read "Organize Favorites" on the top.
(If you don't see the "Organize Favorites" option at the top, scroll upward on the browser. Do this by rolling the mouse over the small triangle at the top pointed upward, selecting it until the option appears).

  2. Step 2

After opening the "Organize Favorites" box, four buttons will be noticed at the left hand side. Left click once on the button that says, "Create Folder". Select a general name for a topic that there are a lot of web links on the favorites menu--such as "games". Left click in the folder name field to change it to the desired topic, or if past the creation step, select the folder then left click on the "Rename" button to be able to change the folder name continuing as above.

  3. Step 3

Place links that deal with the general topic of the folder by left clicking them once with the mouse key, then left clicking the "move to folder" button.

  4. Step 4

Select the folder desired for the link's placement in the box that appears regarding moving the link and left click "ok", unless it is not the right folder, in which "cancel can be selected."

  5. Step 5

If further organization within folders is desired, this can be accomplished in more than one way. Either a new folder can be created and placed under the other one by selecting it and using the "move to folder" option or left clicking the main folder so that it's graphic changes to one of an open folder--then hitting the "make new folder" button.

  6. Step 6

If it is desired to delete a link or folder no longer in use or one that is not needed, just select the link or folder and then left click the "delete" button. From the box that pops up, select "ok" to delete or "cancel" to not go through with the task.
