Learn how to play Quidditch and amaze your friends with your wicked flying abilities!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A broom
  • Six other players
  • A Quidditch field
  • A Quaffle
  • Two Bludgers
  • A Golden Snitch
  1. Step 1

There are four balls: the big, red Quaffle, the two Bludgers, and the Golden Snitch. There are seven players on each team: three Chasers, two Beaters, a Keeper, and a Seeker. There are two teams to a Quidditch match. Obviously.

  2. Step 2

The three Chasers throw the Quaffle to each other and try to get it through the other teams' three goalposts to score. The Keeper guards the three goalposts. A Bludger is a big, black ball that whizzes around the Quidditch pitch and tries to unseat as many players as possible. There are two Bludgers per team. The two Beaters carry big, heavy bats, not unlike the ones Muggles (non-magical people) use to play baseball, and whack the Bludgers away from their own team and (if they can) towards the opposing team.

  3. Step 3

The Seeker is a light, speedy player, and his/her job is to catch the Golden Snitch. The Snitch is a golden ball, about the size of a large walnut or a golf ball, and it has tiny, fluttering, golden wings, and zooms around the pitch. When the Seeker catches the Snitch, it earns his/her team an extra 150 points, and finishes the game. The game can only end when the Snitch is caught, so a match can go on for weeks. The record is three months.

  4. Step 4

Every time a Chaser gets the Quaffle through any of the opposing team's hoops, 10 points is scored for his/her team. Have fun playing Quidditch!

Tips & Warnings
  • Whacking a Bludger at the Seeker after the Snitch has been caught is a foul!
