Store Ribbon and Lace

So many crafts (sewing and non-sewing) use ribbons and lace. Getting a supply of lace and ribbons organized makes it much easier to find what is needed for scrapbooking, gift wrapping and other crafts. Here are ways to store ribbons and lace.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • cardboard
  • pins
  • clear plastic containers
  • a belt storage ring
  1. Step 1

The traditional way to keep lengths of lace was to wrap it around a piece of cardboard. The loose end was secured with a pin. This method is inexpensive and easy.

  2. Step 2

Rummage in the closet to find a round belt storage hanger or pick one up at a discount store. This holds ribbon that come on rolls. Hang it on the closet rod of your craft supply closet.

Recycle containers from other purchases to store lace and ribbon. Clear containers allow you to easily locate the lace or ribbon needed for a special project. Stack these on shelves in the craft room or in the craft supply closet.

  4. Step 4

Save the plastic covers that originally held pillowcases or curtains. Many of these have a hanger to conveniently hang in the craft supply closet.

  5. Step 5

Put a rod by your work table to hold rolls of ribbons.

on 8/15/2008 I like to wrap my scrapbooking ribbons around wooden clothespins and store them in large glass yards. It makes for a very pretty display!

on 7/29/2008 Love your idea about using the belt hanger and asking at the fabric store for their used plastic holders. Much better than throwing the lace in a bag.....
