How to Download Games on a TI 83 Calculator

There are a number of reasons to have games on your TI 83 calculator. Whether you are sitting in a math class that seems redundant or on the bus riding to your house or any place that requires waiting, the TI 83 can be a companion that ends boredom and helps get you through the down times.

Instructions

1. Download the software necessary for transferring games from your computer to your TI 83 calculator. You can find the software at Texas Instruments' official website under the "Download" heading (see Resources). The downloads are free ware so that means you won't have to pay for them.

2. Find a game that you want to download and click on it. Save the link to your desktop or a folder.

3. Open the software that you downloaded and locate the game. The suffix is usually .8xk. Drag it from the software window to the calculator icon.

4. Connect the USB cord that came with your TI 83 calculator to your computer. The computer should recognize your calculator, but if it doesn't you can manually open by clicking on "My Computer" and finding it there.

5. Disconnect the USB from the computer and your TI 83 calculator once the file transfer has been completed. Close all windows and delete the game from your computer.

6. Press the "APPS" button on your calculator and enjoy your game.
