Instead of going to the store and searching for the perfect headband, choose the color, style and decorations to fit your needs and create a one-of-a-kind headband in minutes. Lace headbands, designed to be comfortable and stylish, are popular with young girls and babies.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 yard of lace
  • Package of elastic band
  • Needle and thread
  • Flowers or decorations
  • Hot glue and hot glue gun
  1. Step 1

Measure the head of the person wearing the headband from ear to ear, across the top of the head. General measurements for headbands are: 6 inches for adults, 4 inches for a child, and 2 inches for a baby.

  2. Step 2

Cut the lace to fit the measurement from Step 1. Cut the elastic half the length of the lace.

  3. Step 3

Fold the cut ends of the lace up 1/4 inch and sew a quick hem to prevent raveling.

  4. Step 4

Center the elastic at the end of the lace and attach them to each other with a needle and thread. Repeat at the other end of the lace. Sew the ends together to create a circle band.

  5. Step 5

Sew or glue flowers or other decorations to the lace. If gluing them, place a sheet of paper between the lace and elastic to protect the lace. Set the headband on a flat surface to dry.
