Step 1
Open "Face Room" from the main Poser toolbar. You can either select a character you want to work on or click "Random Face" and the program selects one of the preloaded model faces for you instead. Select "Camera Control" to pan, zoom or view the face at many different angles.
-
Step 2
Use "Photo Lineup" to animate a photograph of yourself, friends or anyone you like by clicking "Photo Lineup," and then clicking on the folder icon which is located at the left side of your "Photo Lineup" work area. Select the photograph you want to use once the dialog box appears.
-
Step 3
Click the corners of the eyes and the sides of the mouth so that "Photo Lineup" can line up your photograph to create a 3-D face. You can adjust or re-size the photograph so that you don't distort the image map of your 3-D head that you're creating.
-
Step 4
Open the "Face Morphing Tool" in the "Face Room" to change facial morphs on the 3-D head from the photograph you're creating. Notice that there is a morph for each part of the face that you can click and make changes to your face, and there are also dials to adjust things such as "Caricature," "Exaggeration Minimum" and "Exaggeration Maximum." You can also click where it says to "Use Morphs" either "Symmetry," "Asymmetry" or "Both."
-
Step 5
Use adjustment dots which are the little green dots you get when you click on different areas of the photograph. You can pull these dots to make the face fit into its final configuration. Use the "Magnifying Tool" to zoom into any part of the face to fix any areas which need to have their size fine tuned to fit the area.
-
Step 6
Rotate the 3-D preview of the face you've created from a photograph so that you can continually check what you've done before you go on to another step. Once you have the 3-D face set to the size you want, click the "Apply to Figure" button. You can also click "Apply Shape Only" to adjust the size of the face or the "Spawn Morph Target," which applies any shape changes that you've created to your head. After you've clicked these buttons and made changes to your 3-D head, click the "Pose Tab" to finish.
