How to Make Aromatherapy Oil for Arthritis

If you are tired of over the counter arthritis creams and ointments, mix your own batch of arthritis relief. You can rub aromatherapy oil for arthritis directly onto your joints or enjoy it during a warm bath that can nourish your skin while soothing arthritis pain.

Things You'll Need

  • 6 ounce dark glass bottle
  • Small pot of water
  • 3 tbsp. sweet almond oil
  • 2 tbsp. jojoba oil
  • 1 tsp. vitamin E oil
  • 15 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 5 drops ginger essential oil

Instructions

      Remove the lid from your bottle and place both in a small pot of water. Bring the water to a rolling boil for 1 full minute. Turn off the heat and remove the cap and bottle when the water has cooled. Let them dry upside down.

      Pour 3 tbsp. of sweet almond oil, 2 tbsp. of jojoba oil and 1 tsp. of vitamin E oil into the bottle. Add 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 10 drops of rosemary essential oil and 5 drops of ginger essential oil.

      Cap the bottle tightly and shake gently. For 3 days, shake the bottle 2 or 3 times daily. Use whenever needed to soothe arthritis pain.

Tips & Warnings

  • This aromatherapy oil will warm your skin. You can increase or decrease the amount of ginger on your next batch to increase or decrease the heat.

  • Select fresh essential oils and carrier oils. If you sterilize your equipment, choose fresh ingredients and store your oil in a cool dark place, it should keep for at least 18 months.
