Choosing the perfect baptism thank-you notes can be a fun experience. However, when you go to actually write them, you may be hit with a case of writer's block no matter how thankful you are. Even if the baptism thank-you notes come with a prewritten message, it's appropriate to write a short expression of your personal gratitude.

From Quick Guide: Giving Thanks with a Note
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a list of gifts. This makes it easy to remember who gave what and who you need to send baptism thank-you notes to. Add gifts to the list as you receive them and then update the list immediately after the baptism ceremony so you do not forget any details. Also make a list of people who attended the ceremony.

  2. Step 2

Give thanks for the specific gift in each baptism thank-you note. Explain how much you and your baby like it and how you're using it. Thank the person not just for the gift, but for the thought put into selecting it out. Compliment the giver on his or her choice of a gift.

  3. Step 3

Thank the person for her attendance at the baptism ceremony. If the person you are thanking came to the ceremony, say how her attendance made the day more special and memorable for your family.

  4. Step 4

Provide an update on your baby. People who gave a baptism gift will want to know how the baby is progressing and what exciting developments she's experiencing.

  5. Step 5

Sign your name, the name of your spouse or partner, and your baby. People will enjoy seeing your baby's name alongside your name.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pick thank-you notes based on how much you plan to write on each card and how big your handwriting is. The cards will have to be big enough to accommodate your longest thank-you message.
  • Include a photo of the baby in the baptism thank-you note.
  • Consider writing the thank-you note in the first person, as if the baby was writing it.
  • Send thank-you notes early because it's proper etiquette to send them out two weeks after the baptism ceremony.
