Step 1
Hide your trash compactor behind a cabinet door or wood panel. If you have an under-the-counter trash compactor and you rather it not be exposed, you can easily put it behind a matching cabinet door or purchase a wood panel accessory to hide it.
-
Step 2
Change the trash compactor's front panel. Most models have a detachable front panel that you can replace if your unit is old or damaged. You can custom order front panels in a variety of colors to fit any size.
-
Step 3
Match the front of the trash compactor with rest of your kitchen appliances so it blends in with your decor.
-
Step 4
Keep your trash out of sight with a wraparound drawer panel designed to be used with a trim kit for installing wood panels, creating a built-in look.
-
Step 5
Cover a freestanding trash compactor with a small matching kitchen cabinet. You will have to remove some of the shelves to hollow it out and make room for the compactor.
-
Step 6
Use the top of the cabinet by attaching a butcher block, counter top or dry sink.
