Finding a conversion program to generate a DVD from other format files is confusing because of the numerous packages available and because they all have different features. ConvertXtoDVD, formerly known as DivXtoDVD, is very straightforward and can convert different file formats into a format and structure used on DVDs. It will then burn the DVD for you if you choose.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Install and open ConvertXtoDVD. The main window field is a drag and drop region that you can use to stack the files you want to convert. It will hold each individual file as a separate entry. You will be able to modify any of the options on each file individually.

  2. Step 2

Drag the files that you want to convert onto one DVD into the field and order them as you want to view them. Convert and burn the DVD and it will play through unless you set the options to play the files individually instead of consecutively.

  3. Step 3

Click on the plus sign next to the video clip. Also click the plus sign next to the "DVD Options" selection. Under the "DVD Options," you can change how the resulting DVD will play. You can make it go through the menu selections or you can select to have the movie start as soon as it loads in the DVD player. You also have the option to set the movie to play on a continuous loop. You can name the disk in this section as well.

  4. Step 4

Select the "Video" item under the video clip and you get the option to change the display format of the clip from "Wide Screen" to "Full Screen." You can make other customizations to the DVD under these items. Once you have finished with the changes you need to make, select the "Settings" and then the "Burning" option. Select whether you want the DVD to burn to disk following conversion on this screen. Select whether you want the DVD to burn to disk following conversion on this screen.

  5. Step 5

Select "Actions" and then "Convert." The conversion process will start and then once complete, the DVD will burn if so selected.
