The amount of business your bagel shop receives depends greatly upon how much attention you are able to bring to it. Besides location, how you decorate it is a major factor in this. Follow these steps to learn how to decorate a bagel shop and increase your profit.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Draw attention to your shop by placing a tent sign on the sidewalk. The sign should have the name of your bagel shop, logo, hours of operation and your current lunch special or promotion. Verify that your lease doesn't prevent you from advertising outside your store.

  2. Step 2

Choose tables and chairs that are small yet functional. Food offered on bagel shop menus rarely take up much room, so a small rectangular table is suitable. If customers need a larger table, they can push two or more small tables together. Verify that the chairs, though small, can bear weight to accommodate all customers.

  3. Step 3

Decorate your menu board with pictures for the promotional items. Black and white text is cost effective but customers often overlook many items. Use colored text and decorative fonts for the menu headings.

  4. Step 4

Hang up pictures that are unique to the bagel business. These include pictures of the bagel making process, bagels and lox and families eating bagels.

  5. Step 5

Install a window in front of the baker's area so that customers can watch the bagel making process. Place tables and chairs in front of the window so that customers can observe the baker while they dine.

  6. Step 6

Place a refrigeration case in front of the cash register. Display your selection of cream cheeses and juices in an orderly fashion. This will allow customers to easily access the products they desire and provide you with an inexpensive way to market your goods.
