When you are entertaining guests, it is always nice to go the extra mile to make your decor stand out. One way to do this is by folding your guests' napkins into different objects. Making a napkin orchid is a great and fun way to impress your guests.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cloth or paper napkins
  • Napkin rings
Step1
Iron your napkin. For the best results when folding your napkin into an orchid, make sure that the napkin is ironed and laying flat on a smooth surface.
Step2
Fold the napkin. Fold the napkin in half with the open end of the napkin facing toward you.
Step3
Pick up the top corner of the napkin, fold it down to the edge of the napkin that is facing you. Repeat with the other corner of the napkin to the other edge of the napkin.
Step4
Take the corner of the bottom of the napkin and fold it upward to make a peak in the napkin. Do the same thing with the corner on the other side.
Step5
Bring the points down again. Fold the points of these corners halfway back down the napkin on each side. The points should extend past the napkin to form two points.
Step6
Grasp the middle of the napkin and fold it in half so the napkin forms one big bunch.
Step7
Slide the napkin ring to the middle of the napkin and fan the napkin out so that the top forms what looks like an orchid.

Tips & Warnings

  • The best material to use is crisp linen or cotton. This will make folding the napkin much easier.
