Instructions

    • 1

Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal. Take care to secure it where it can't touch any metal parts.

    • 2

Cut a wire coat hanger into two 8-inch pieces and bend them into a "U" shape. Locate the pin lock holes on each side of the radio and adjust the hanger to fit on each side of the stereo.

    • 3

Push the hangers to the outside of the stereo to release the locks and pull the head unit out of the dash. Disconnect the wires from the back of the head unit and set the radio aside.

    • 4

Slip the new Ford radio mounting kit into the dash, pulling the wiring harness and antenna wire out through the front. Connect the wiring harness adaptor to the old harness and then to the back of the new head unit. Insert the antenna wire and tuck the cables into the dash opening.

    • 5

Slide the stereo into the Ford Mustang dash until it clicks into place and reconnect the negative battery cable. Turn the radio on and verify all of the speakers and controls are working properly.
