Plan Office Trust Exercises

Office trust exercises are a valuable tool for uniting team members. Trust games require team members to rely on each other to complete tasks, some of which involve team members to keep each other safe. Plan a variety of games for your office staff to keep them entertained and on their toes.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate the group in half and in two equal lines. Have the first person in one of the lines lay down between the two lines. Instruct the team members to pick the person up and pass him down the line, setting him gently down at the end. Rotate through the line until all team members have been passed down the conveyor belt.

    • 2

Gather the employees in a large room that is free from furniture. Blind fold each employee or have them close their eyes. Give the employees instructions to walk slowly and chat with people that they bump into. Make the game more difficult by giving the employees goals such as finding someone who has the same color hair, the same shoe size or the same eye color.

    • 3

Make an obstacle course with tables, chairs and any other items that are handy. Divide the group into pairs of two. Blindfold one of the pairs in each group and have the other guide their partner safely through the maze. Have the partners switch roles.

    • 4

Divide team members into groups of two. Form two circles, one within the other with both groups facing the inside of the circles. Have the partners in the inner circle fall backwards and be caught by their partner behind them. Reverse the rolls.

    • 5

Mark a spot in the center of the room. Move the team members to the outside of the room and blindfold them. Instruct the team members to get on their hands and knees and crawl to the predetermined spot in the room. End the game when everyone in the group has reached the middle and are piled up.

    • 6

Take time after each game, or at the end of all the exercises to discuss the role and importance of team work. Allow the team members to discuss their feelings about the roles they played in each of the games.
