How to Buy a Boyfriend or Girlfriend a Graduation Present

It's a nice gesture to buy a graduate a gift to commemorate the occasion, but when it's your boyfriend or girlfriend getting the diploma, the gift should be even more meaningful. Consider the options to present something worthy of the event.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a small scrapbook featuring photos, memorabilia and written memories of the times you've shared together. You'll be able to reminisce as you look through it, and he'll be able to take it with him as a reminder of your feelings if he's going away to college in the fall.

  2. Step 2

Consider an assortment of items she'll need if she's heading to college or starting a career after graduation. If she's living on campus, she'll need desk accessories, school supplies and a larger book bag to tote textbooks to class. You can also throw in a framed photo collage she can hang in her room. If she's starting a job, she may appreciate a briefcase, a cool executive desk toy or a gift card to a clothing store to buy outfits for work.

  3. Step 3

Buy a corkboard or magnet board that he can hang in his room and use to organize "to do" lists and appointments for a new job or school year if he's starting college. Present it with a few photos of the two of you, some ticket stubs from movies or concerts you attended or an inspirational quote already attached.

  4. Step 4

Piggyback on a big-ticket item that your girlfriend's parents are buying her for graduation. If they're buying her a portable music player, for example, download a bunch of your favorite songs and movies that you've seen together and loved. If she's getting a new cell phone, download a ringtone that will let her know when you're calling and include a gift card so she can also choose several songs or videos that she enjoys.

  5. Step 5

Give him a small present to let him know you support his dreams and want to help him pursue them. If he hopes to become a writer after graduation, for example, give him a leather journal and a nice pen to jot down his story ideas and outlines.

on 5/12/2009 Great ideas. My girlfriend is graduating college in a few weeks, so I’ve been looking for something to get her. I want to get her something that she’s going to be able to use a lot, and that will also be a great reminder of how proud I am of her. I was looking around online for some ideas and eventually I came across the Jewelry Information Center website. There was no question in my mind that I wanted to get her a piece of jewelry - I was just stumped at first for where to begin. JIC has just about all of the info you could be looking for..... I was able to find the perfect gift idea for her. JIC has really helpful features that make finding a gift much easier; it definitely comes in handy for guys who have no idea where to start. I definitely suggest checking out JIC for some ideas, I don’t know of any girl who wont love a great piece of jewelry.
