How to Make Liver Treats for Cats
It isn't a good idea to give your cat too many treats, but an occasional liver treat will make your feline friend jump for joy. When you decide to give kitty a treat, homemade liver treats, full of fresh and healthy ingredients, are a very good choice.
Things You'll Need
- Baking dish
- Oil
- 1 lb. chicken liver
- Food processor
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp. molasses
- 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup powdered milk

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Oil a baking dish and set it aside.

Place 1 lb. of chicken livers in a food processor and process them for a few seconds. Add 1 large egg and 2 tbsp. of molasses and blend until the mixture liquefies.

Transfer the liver mixture to a large mixing bowl and stir in 1 cup of all purpose flour and 1 cup of cornmeal and 1/2 cup of powdered milk and blend until the mixture is smooth.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake it for 15 minutes.

Allow the liver treats to cool for a few minutes, and then cut them into small squares and allow them to cool completely. Put the liver treats in an airtight container.

Store the liver treats in the refrigerator or the freezer.

Liver treats stored in the freezer will last longer.
On a hot day, give your kitty a couple of cool liver treats straight from the freezer.
