Things You'll Need:

  • 1 bag miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • Large microwave safe bowl
  • 1 small package orange gelatin
  • 2 tsp. orange extract
  • 12 cups white popcorn, popped
  • Extra large bowl for popcorn
  • Waxed paper
  • Paring knife or scissors
  • Fruit leather
  • Licorice string
  1. Step 1

Place 1 bag of miniature marshmallows and 1/4 cup of butter or margarine in a large microwave safe bowl, and melt them on high for approximately 1 to 2 minutes.

  2. Step 2

Stir one small box of orange gelatin and 1 tsp. orange extract into the melted marshmallow mixture.

  3. Step 3

Pop enough popcorn to make 12 cups, and put the popcorn in an extra large bowl.

  4. Step 4

Drizzle the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and stir it until the popcorn is completely coated.

  5. Step 5

Rub some butter on your hands and form the popcorn mixture into 12 popcorn balls. Put the popcorn balls on a piece of waxed paper.

  6. Step 6

Use a paring knife or scissors to cut the fruit leather into shapes for the jack o'lantern's eyes and nose and stick them on the popcorn balls. Cut some more fruit leather shapes for the teeth, and outline the teeth with licorice string.
