Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • Paper or foil muffin tin liners
  • 2 muffin tins
  • 1 can prepared chocolate frosting
  • Miniature M&M candies
  • Gumdrops
  • Thin mint wafers
  • 1 flat chocolate candy bar
  • 1 tube of red gel frosting
  1. Step 1

Mix the cake mix as directed on the package and pour the batter into the paper or foil-lined muffin tins. Bake as directed on the package.

  2. Step 2

Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cook on a wire rack. Frost the cooled cupcakes with a chocolate frosting.

  3. Step 3

Put two matching M&Ms on each cupcake for the bat's eyes, and put a gumdrop nose in the center of the cupcake.

  4. Step 4

Cut a thin mint in half and arrange one half, flat side down, on each side of each cupcake. These are the bat's wings.

  5. Step 5

Slice a flat chocolate bar into small triangles and put them on the top of the bat's head for bat ears.

  6. Step 6

Use one tube of red gel frosting to draw a mouth on each bat cupcake, along with a pair of fangs and a tiny pupil in the middle of each miniature M&M eye.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't like mint, use chocolate wafer cookies for the bat's wings.
